This morning, director Eugene Campbell announced that he had just concluded negotiations to acquire Pompeii Power Inc. on behalf of Corestone Alternative Energy Solutions. In the coming weeks, Pompeii Power will be absorbed into CAES. Its customers will be moved onto CAES plans, and its assets will be transferred to CAES. No layoffs are expected to result from the acquisition; all employees of Pompeii Power will be integrated into CAES departments.

"This is one of the biggest business decisions that Corestone has made since its founding," said Jonah Reed, director of finance. "If nothing else, it means we have the resources to provide service to an even larger client base."

Timothy Doris, formerly a psionic operative at Pompeii Power, also seemed optimistic about the deal. "I've heard of Corestone since I was a teenager," he said. "Growing up, I knew I was a bit different—dreaming about things before they happened and sensing other people's emotions—but Corestone pioneered a way for me to actually develop those skills and put them into place. I'm grateful that Pompeii Power gave me an opportunity to get started on that, but I'm looking forward to working for the company that started it in the first place."

As part of the announcement, Campbell shared that Pompeii Power had recently located and discovered the Indigo Corestone, which is among the assets that will be transferred to CAES. Prior to the acquisition, Pompeii Power had made no statement regarding their discovery of the Corestone, and Campbell stated that he proposed the deal before Casey LeGuin, the CEO of Pompeii Power, told him about the Corestone. The Indigo Corestone is the seventh Corestone to have been discovered. Sabrina Kondo, lead psionic operative at CAES, believes it's the last one.

"As a scientist, I'm always open to my theories and hypotheses being proven wrong," Kondo said. "But every bit of evidence we've found for seven years suggests that there are only seven Corestones. There's no way to overstate how much more research we're going to be able to accomplish now that we can study them all together."

Pompeii Power Inc. was established in 2003 and primarily relied on traditional non-renewable energy sources. In recent years, however, Pompeii had begun to expand into psionic energy generation in hopes of replicating CAES's success. CAES will begin phasing out Pompeii Power's remaining fossil fuel-based power generation and moving their clientele to clean, Corestone-generated energy.
